The Group began its activities in the early 1990s in the lighting sector in Europe, with the companies By-Control and EBT Belgique.
It continued its development with the creation of Tecline, established in Liège and Paris, specializing in the design and manufacture of custom-made electrical equipment.
It was during this period that the “Luxus” model was launched, the first expression of a demanding vision of electrical fittings.
This approach enabled the Group to take part in international projects, in compliance with the technical standards specific to each country and architectural environment.
The creation of CEA marked a new phase of expansion, notably with the opening of offices in Marrakech.
In response to growing demand in the high-end market, a standard luxury product line was developed.
The Luxonov brand quickly established itself as a reference in premium electrical fittings, recognized for its balance between formal sophistication and technical mastery.
The Edges collection, born from the convergence of Luxus design and Luxonov, strengthened this position and became one of the Group’s emblematic signatures.
The activities were subsequently consolidated within CEA Liège (AtelierLuxus) to ensure coherent management of the collections and distribution.
A new chapter opened with the creation of the QYRAA and SpecialX collections.
Entirely crafted in cast bronze, these lines explore organic forms and assert a design freedom liberated from traditional standards.
In 2021, CEA Elektrik AŞ was founded in Turkey to structure the production of complex cast bronze components and to support the development of the new collections.
QYRAA Philosophy
At the end of the 1990s, I was contacted for a renovation project at the Hôtel Plaza Athénée in Paris.
That is where the first Luxus model was born.
Almost by accident.
A meeting between sophistication and bespoke electronics.
An intuition.
A personal definition of luxury.
Sometimes the wind pushes us without our immediately understanding its direction.
Only in hindsight do we realize it was already tracing our path.
The word luxury has been emptied of its substance.
Rarity diluted.
Timelessness sacrificed.
Quality negotiated.
Money. Volume. Speed.
I have never followed that movement.
To me, luxury remains rare.
Durable.
Demanding.
I do not pursue fashion.
I pursue the line.
The curve of an automobile.
The tension of a shell.
The precision of a lighter.
The balance of a jewel.
A line only needs to be right to deserve to exist.
The Range Rover of the 2010s inspired Luxonov.
Minimalism nourished the reflection behind Edges.
Different universes.
One constant: mastered simplicity. Timelessness.
At the beginning, my drawings were flat.
Materials limited the possibilities.
Technical constraints reflected our own limits.
Simplicity made copying easier.
Today, I refuse that limit.
Bronze has become a territory.
A living material. Dense. Unpredictable.
Forms become organic.
Volumes gain depth.
Surfaces cease to be flat.
Possibilities do not multiply.
They open.
There are no rules.
There is only the eye.
To create is to dare to step outside the frame.
To create is to give a soul to a technical object.
To create is to refuse banality.
Today, this vision has a name.
QYRAA.
